Persons with Disabilities
We inform our visitors that the historic building of the monastery -- because of its geographical and architectural conditions -- is not fully accessible for persons with disabilities. We kindly ask them to make a preliminary registration.
The Tourist Center is outfitted with elevator and a toilet equipped for the disabled.
From the Tourist Center the groups walk up to the monastery on a path that ends in 56 elongated steps. Visitors with disabilities are allowed to travel by their own car to the main entrance of the monastery. The Visitors' Entrance is outfitted with elevator and a toilet equipped for the disabled.
The different parts of the church and the library are approachable by climbing 5-10 steps ten times. Those who are not wheelchair-bound can manage the visit to the abbey at their own pace. For those who are wheelchair-bound and make a preliminary registration, we can recommend a special route of visit.
It is also possible to return to the main gate by the courtyard. The temporary exhibition in the summer is accessible with wheelchair in the path around the monastery, but in the exhibition hall there are two steps.
We kindly ask our guests to always make an appointment in advance.
